Today I’ll show you how to decorate a metal ring with Christmas balls in just a few steps! Metal rings are real treasures for me because they are so changeable that you can decorate them all year round. Depending on the season, they can be decorated again and again in very different ways with flowers, fairy lights, fir branches or even candles.
Rings are great especially to do some Christmas crafts. So many craft ideas can be implemented with it! For example, last Christmas I published instructions for a clip trick that can be applied on rings. This year I want to decorate a ring with dried flowers for Christmas. I use Christmas balls as vases, which I simply glue together.
With the following step-by-step instructions you can easily make the metal ring with Christmas balls yourself!
Tools
Here you can see which tools I used for the Christmas decorations. You will need scissors to cut the ribbon, flower scissors to cut the flowers, and a hot glue gun with hot glue sticks to attach the Christmas balls.

Materials
I used these materials for the hanging Christmas decorations: a metal ring, various Christmas balls, a decorative ribbon for hanging everything up and various fresh and dried flowers as well as branches. I use fresh gypsophila here, which you don’t have to water because it dries beautifully. Of course you can also use artificial flowers for this.
Instructions | Decorate the metal ring with Christmas balls
Step 1: Prepare Christmas balls
In the first step I prepare the Christmas balls.
To do this, I remove their caps.
Step 2: Glue the Christmas balls to the ring
Now the balls can be attached to the ring.
Before I start gluing, I put the balls in the ring and see how they fit together best.
Then I glue the first ball to the metal ring so that the opening faces up.
I glue the second ball to the first ball.
This is how I glue the remaining balls together. I then attach the last Christmas ball to the ring again with glue.
Step 3: Attach ribbon
Now I cut off a piece of the ribbon.
I fold this in the middle and put the loop on the ring.
I put the two ends of the ribbon around the ring and lead them through the loop.
Then I tie the ends with a knot.
Step 4: Cut flowers
Now I cut my fresh gypsophila, the twigs and the dried flowers with the flower scissors.
Among other things, I use dried eucalyptus leaves and the beautiful eucalyptus fruits.
Step 5: Insert flowers into the Christmas balls
In the last step, I simply insert the flowers into the openings of the Christmas balls.
And the metal ring with Christmas balls is ready! I hope you enjoyed this DIY as much as I did and enjoy looking at the hanging Christmas decorations!
